The Wrap House is an extremely democratic assignment, an addition + alteration endeavour. It attempts to ignore the original multiple roof gables which are redundant + over-killing in addressing the programs of the house. The gables brought strange interruptions to the house interior due to oddly placed slanted roof beams which we had to rid of, unifying the facade + the programs harmonically with a rectangle by way of a wrap. By utilizing metal standing seam profiles to wrap around the upper floor, we retained + extruded only the outline of the most prominent front gable to reminisce its origin indirectly creating an illuminated void above the car porch.
