KKNG Architect was incepted by Keat Ng as a professional practice in late 2001, initially as a temporary platform for random experimental thoughts while consulting for a string of established offices working on houses, apartments, resorts + cafes.

In the winter of 2009, after completing a contractual stint managing the detail design stage for the Qatar National Library, based in Shenzhen + Rotterdam, he returned to Kuala Lumpur to operate this office full-time.

In 2011, Keat Ng was inducted into Malaysia’s 30under40 Emerging Young Architects. KKNG has since exhibited at the Venice Biennale in 2012 (curated by David Chipperfield) & subsequently selected for the 2014 Venice Biennale (curated by Rem Koolhaas). He was listed as a Finalist in the Architecture Asia Awards for Emerging Asian Architects 2016.

The Angkor Stretch was highlighted in a variety of recognitions, amongst which are The Plan Award 2016, WAN Awards 2015 + obtained an Honorable Mention with the American Architecture Prize 2017. The Frame House won a Gold Award in the Single House category with PAM-Homedec 2015 + an Honorable Mention with The Edge MyDreamHome in 2015. The Razorblade Pairs being one of the earlier works, were given an Honorable Mention in 2011 through the PAM-BHP Steel Awards

By the end of 2023, KKNG was admitted into the APEC Architect Register + the ASEAN Architect Register which recognizes our works + involvements in the region. KKNG also garnered a Commendation for a national architectural design competition to revive + further enhance the Bukit Mertajam Wet Market in Penang.  

Keat Ng used to visit as an external critic to Universiti Teknologi Malaysia + was a mentor for a program in University Malaya. Occasionally, he visits other design schools in Kuala Lumpur.

KKNG undertakes architectural design works as their forte but immerses in a variety of design endeavors which includes furniture, graphics, moods, landscape + interiors to ensure follow-through. KKNG always ensure design relevance to the surroundings, users’ intention + its materials.

This office only undertakes an appointment in which the client clearly demonstrates an insistence to propel design as the utmost priority in a project.
